52nd Annual Grammy Awards Weekend Recap

The 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards was held on Sunday, January 31st in Los Angeles, CA at the Staple Center.  Music’s Biggest Night posted the highest ratings since 2004 with an average audience of 25.8 million viewers, up 35 percent from last year’s telecast, and marked increases across key demographics, according to preliminary ratings results from Nielsen.

A 3-D tribute to the late Michael Jackson was one of the highlights of the show.  As Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson, Smoky Robinson and Usher performed a medley of the King of Pop’s songs in his honor.

Other notable performances were given by Pink, Beyonce,  Lil Wayne, Eminem, & Drake: Jamie Foxx, T-Pain & Slash and their rock remix to “Blame It”,  Mary J. Blige and Andrea Bocelli who bridged the gap between R&B and Opera with Bridge Over Troubled Water, Maxwell and Roberta Flack who performed a beautiful duet of her classic Where is the Love?, and Elton John and Lady Gaga, who opened up the show.

Beyoncé picks up a female record six GRAMMYs and Taylor Swift takes home four at the 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards, with no interruptions from Kanye West who was not on hand for the show .

The weekend was not just about the show but the Red Carpet Pre-Parties and After Parties had everyone in Los Angeles hoping to party like a rock star.  Stars like Maxwell, Diddy, Fabolous, Trey Songz, Jamie Foxx and Dr. Dre hosted some of the hottest Grammy Events.  But the highlight of the weekend was Clive Davis & The Recording Academy’s Annual Pre-Grammy Gala. With a guest list that was a who’s who of A-List celebrities in attendance.

In all this year’s Grammy Awards weekend was one of the best in years
